A Biological Method to Substitute Missing or Lost Teeth and Alveolar Bone

چکیده
Autotransplantation of teeth is an old method of tooth replacement, but it is receiving renewed interest, as treatment today is founded on evidencebased, long-term research. Autotransplantation of premolars has become a reliable treatment option for the treatment of certain orthodontic problems (Slagsvold and Bjercke, 1967, 1970. 1974, 1978a,b; Ravn and Nielsen, 1973; Northway and Konigsberg, 1980; Andreasen, 1981; Kristerson, 1985; Paulsen and Andreasen, 1985, 1990, 1998; Lagerstrom and Kristerson, 1986; Andreasen et al., 1988, 1989, 1999a,b,c,d; Paulsen, 1989, 1999, 2001; Kristerson and Kristerson, 1991; Paulsen and Zachrisson, 1992, Kugelbrg et al., 1994; Paulsen et al., 1995, 2001; Josefsson et al., 1999; Czochrowska et al., 2000a,b). Autotransplantation of incisors, canines and molars are not always as successful due to the more complex severity of the surgical problems during transplantation (Nordenram, 1963; Moss 1968, 1975; Oksala and Kallioniemi, 1977; Berglund et al., 1996; Akiyama et al., 1998; Guthua et al., 1994; Bauss et al., 2002; Gleiser and Jaramillo, 2002; Ioannidou and Makris, 2003).

Alveolar bone development after decoronation of ankylosed teeth
Decoronation of ankylosed teeth in infraposition was introduced in 1984 by Malmgren and co-workers (1). This method is used all over the world today. It has been clinically shown that the procedure preserves the alveolar width and rebuilds lost vertical bone of the alveolar ridge in growing individuals. The biological explanation is that the decoronated root serves as a matrix for new bone deve...

Autotransplantation of mandibular third molars in a precocious phase of development is indicated when a substitute for adjacent compromised or missing molars is needed, and when mesial movements of the posterior teeth, the resultant loss of space, and overeruption of opposing teeth and consequent changes in the occlusion must be avoided. Provided that the apices of the mandibular third molar ar...

Careful treatment planning, space management, augmentation of bone and attention to the details of implant surgical and prosthetic techniques are important factors when treating anterior maxilla specially replacement of missing teeth. This case report addresses a chair-side ridge augmentation procedure using autograft bone harvested with trephine drills and placed without using screws and the f...
متن کاملComparison of Alveolar Ridge Preservation with Autograft Cancellous Bone Transplant and PRF Following Canine Tooth Extraction in Dog
Objective- Due to its specific position, the canine tooth is more exposed to the injuries, fractures and pulp necrosis. In these cases, the damaged teeth are usually pulled out. The root of this tooth is very large and sometimes extends over the premolar teeth. To extract it, a large amount of alveolar bone tissue should be harvested. Moreover, the cavity remains very large, wh...

Background and ObjectiveRadiographic examination has an important role in diagnosis and treatment of periodontal patients, so this study was performed to determine the accuracy of digital bite wing (CMOS) radiography in alveolar bone resorption. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 61 teeth of 16 periodontal patients referred to the periodontoloy department of R...
